The Land Acquisition in Dauis
The land is in the rural barangay of Songculan - approximately 6 km. from Tagbilaran City.
In March 2018, we bought a first parcel of land and needed the help of a surveyor to locate the markers.
In the early days, this was the only access we had from the barangay road; we would park our motorcycles on the road side and then go to the land on foot, a distance of 350 metres.
Later on, we discovered that there was also a barangay road on the other side of our land. It transpired that the distance to our property was just a little over 100 metres from there.
In order to access our property from this barangay road, we took the decision to buy a 4.5 metre wide right-of-way from two neighbours.
The photo on the left shows the first section of the right-of-way after it was partially cleared.
This is the remaining part of our right-of-way before reaching the land.
